.. your own ghost..

 "I walked into the mausoleum, hoping it wasn’t too late for him. We had brought him back from the dead once. We could do it again. We had to do it again. He couldn’t just go like that. Not because of all my faults, my ill advice, my wrong choices. I refused to let him go. 

  A bat flapped its wings next to me. I ignored it as I walked towards the place where he was buried. At first I thought that the steps I heard were the echoes of my own steps, but then I noticed the figure approaching me. It was him, but devoid of all that made him be himself. Pale as death, he gave me an empty stare. As my eyes got used to the darkness, I noticed a faint glow around him, a ghostly silhouette moving his body like an inexperienced puppetteer. Horrified, I recognized his features in the spectre, too. I was late.

  There was nothing I could do for him now. Thinking about it, maybe I had already done too much. The bat shrieked, and the next think I saw was darkness. All I could feel was an endless pain. "

    A commission done for LeilaAscariz of a dark scene in her story. It was an absolute blast working on it. I have used new tools and coloring/shading technique I have been learning to work with for the past few weeks, and hopefully it brought the desired effect to the final piece.  I hope you enjoy the final outcome.
