Old Gran Malise

Description

The locals still can’t agree, if the forests of Elwynn and Duskwood became safer or not.. ever since the old worgen gran Malise moved in. They can agree on one thing however, that the nights have certainly turned much, much quieter than before. She arrived on a late fall day, that was much colder than it should be, and many good citizens observed great flocks of crows riding on the wings of the unexpected snowfall. Nobody knows from where or why, but Madam Eve of Darkshire, Madam Anastasia of Goldshire and miss Wrann, who helps the farmers of Westfall by blessing the crops and curing the livestock, all agreed to let gran Malise stay.

She moved into an abandoned shack on the shore of the Stone Cairn Lake, wishing only for seclusion and privacy, a bit of peace and quiet in her old age. The thugs that used to roam the area soon moved away, at least the locals think so, as they haven't been pestering the good folk ever since. The local murloc tribe soon followed, moving down south along the river. Perhaps the lake ran out of fish the locals thought, it must be so. No one has heard from gran Malise since, as she did not seem to need any supplies from the nearby village of Eastvale, and rarely traveled all the way to Goldshire. The few visitors who tried to welcome the old worgen woman and ask if she needed anything were met with stern glare and had the old, dusty, and oddly scratched wooden door slammed shut in front of their nose. She kept only one companion, an unusually large cat. A grizzled old thing that seemed to peer into one's soul and always had this odd, hungry look around itself.

Several hunters mentioned seeing her hunched, gnarled form lumber through the woods at night, an old feeble lantern casting uneasy, animated shadows around her, the odd feline always on her shoulder. She reportedly helped a couple of lost travelers by showing them way to Eastvale or Goldshire, but rarely spoke to them, only snarling and waving off their thanks. It is fortunate that she helps the occasional lost soul, as it has become harder to navigate the forest paths as the nights have grown darker and an odd mist keeps pouring out of the Stone Cairn Lake. The few Brigade patrolmen who met with gran Malise were met with the same unwelcoming snarl, and the hungry feline gaze. When inquired by the local officials, both Madam Eve of Darkshire, Madam Anastasia of Goldshire and miss Wrann, who helps the farmers of Westfall by blessing the crops and curing the livestock recommended, that gran Malise be left alone, until she decides to meet someone on her own terms.

Hello everyone! I hope you did not mind a bit longer description today, accompanied by a short story about gran Malise's arrival. While not a member of The Brigade, Gran Malise is an important character that plays a larger role in the lives of several Brigade's members, and as such deserves the spotlight as much as any other character.

The picture was a challenge to draw, but I hope I have managed to catch the feeling just right. For some reason, I seem to be drawing worgen of late (the RNG generator picking the characters is full of worgen hair.., there is at least 4 more on the way ), young, old, ladies and gentledogs.. I love worgen though, so I'm not complaining.

Old Malise is not very fond of Treasure hunts and other summer activities. She'd much rather try to curse you if you come asking for donations. However, her cat familiar, the sinister Imp, rummaged around Malise's hut and dug out a misplaced potion of Mind Influence . You can have that thing, it will grant you a bonus of 100 Brigade Reputation Points, this prize requires a Copper Key to unlock. There are no Silver, Golden, Copper or Truesilver keys here.
